Past carnivals

After a break of nine years, the Cowes Carnival was resurected in 2003 and since then we have entered and won numberous trophies and awards for our float in other events around the Island. In 2003 our theme was 'Strawberries and Cream' in which we recieved a variety of awards. In 2004 the theme was a 'Magical Castle' and 2005 was based on an 'Indian Summer', for research we went to London to learn about traditional Indian Sari's. In 2006 the theme was 'Springtime' in which we went to mainland England to a carnival in Bishopstoke which we also won. 2008 is the season of the 'Egyptian Queens'. Every year when a theme is chosen the float is stripped down and redesigned to match the theme. Pictures of this can be seen in the gallery.

We are trying piece together the history of the carnival in the old format, please look below at the information we have so far. If you have photos or programmes, we would love to have a look and possibly publish them here, contact us using the form.
